Rain in Rio

This city has an amazing vibe. I think it is questionable whether it is fair to have so much beauty in one city only. Not that there aren’t problems in Río but it has an appeal that goes beyond the breathtaking glory of its beaches and morros. There is something in the air. Even today with its rain, the sea looked grey in a delightful, even comforting way.

One of my favorite Rio stories thus far was many years ago when I walked into a bar close to the beach. There was a sign that read: “It is forbidden to play music on the furniture – batucadas na mesa- and to dance on top of tables. I swear this is a true story.
